enrique's journey

Chiapas and Veracruz are two states in Mexico . In the book Enrique’s journey , author Sonia Nazario describes both places these two states have many similarities and differences as Enrique ,the main characters in the book travels noth has experiences in both places.

When Enrique’s travels through Mexico , he goes through Chiapas and Veracruz , the discovers that the states are similar in many ways both states haven the same dialect of the Spanish language. These states are close together and on the route to U.S. for Enrique , both of the Mexico states have experiences for Enrique and other migrants.

During Enrique travels, he faced differences in both states. He traveled through Chiapas first on his journey north he noticed many dangerous in the states called “La Bestia”, the local people were afraid of migrants and did not help them , most of the police was corrupt and violent , also the bandits and gangs made traveling difficult and scary. Enrique experience were not positive no could he ever forget them.

In contract Veracruz left many positives memories with Enrique , he learn that the locals were kind friendly with the migrants , many people fed , clothes and hired Enrique . Most locals had family already in the U.S. so there ere understanding and generous , Enrique enjoyed traveling through the state.


In conclusion, Chiapas Veracruz , Mexico both help positive and negative memories for Enrique . He saw many things that were good and bad for migrants traveling north both states share many similarities and differences ,]. Whether good or bad Enrique will never forget the places because he found luck in both.
